| i love my fishies. i got it in my head one day that what i really needed to welcome me home from a long day's work were fish. previously i have not had livable experiences with fish. mort, rex, and esmerelda never made it long enough to feel they had led a full life. especially mort. (we think the name was part of it) i thought perhaps fish were not designed to last more than a month or two when in my presence. but then the Pham inherited a fish (Phiche) from the neighbors (who did not take it back to england with them) and it seemed to be just fine. HMMM i said. mom took me to petsmart. we looked around. i flew back to virginia and promptly went to my nearby petsmart, and december 27, 2001, bonnie and clyde came to join the family. so sweet. pondering it now, i do not know quite how they made it....i had no water ready for them and they had to wait in their little plastic baggie for me to boil and cool 10 gallons of water. so i wrote them a little song (i'm a devoted mother): sweet little fishies, cute little fishies everybody loves the fishies like you swimming in your fish tank doing little fishie moves i like to feed you fishy food and sing with you cute little eyes sweet button nose have you seen a smarter fish with nonexistant toes? sweet little fishies, cute little fishies everybody loves the fishies like you swimming in your fish tank doing little fishie moves i like to feed you fishy food and sing with you |
