| yes. i have views on architecture not worshiping Frank Lloyd Wright views not bowing to Le Corbusier type views but views i intend to share them here when i'm not putting in 50-hr weeks at work. or making valentines. or dinner. or whatever else my excuse wants to be. ;) trust me, though, i have views. let's think: Louis Sullivan Henry Hobson Richardson Victor Horta Antonio Gaudi ...i favor aesthetically early 20th centry architecture, late 19th century. back when it was just a few drawings from the architect, some skilled workers, and bam! a masterpiece ahead of its time... so many books, so many lectures, so many ways to try to experience it so many years later. flipping to the 21st century, affordable housing, sustainable materials, power sources, liability, and responsible, ethical professionalism spring to my top list of concerns. adaptability. reuse of the existing, whether for a slight twist of use (home to business office, soup can to pencil holder) or a reinterpretation of its very essence (caboose to motel, parquet floor sample to trivet). these views i have and will persue further... |
