The Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Race programme is a celebration of motor racing history, historic automobiles and the people who made them. Each year more than 375 historic race and sports cars are entered in 14 race groups that span nearly every era of motorsports history. For 2004, The 31st Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races will be presented by Chrysler on August 13th to 15th. Ferrari is the featured marque this year for what is undoubtedly the premier vintage automotive event in North America.Arriving in Los Angeles, your hotel is in beautiful Santa Monica, a short easy drive from the airport. The following morning, your uniquely detailed Road Book wil guide you to some of the key sights of L.A. before taking you north to Santa Barbara. Day 3 includes the fabled Hearst Castle and the incomparable spectacle of the Big Sur corniche drive all the way to Monterey.
While in Monterey, there's even more for you than the Historic races. See the exclusive Carmel, Steinbeck's Cannery Row, the Pacific coast and visit world-renowned seafood restaurants. The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday 15th August is also an option and promises once again to be a stunning showcase of automotive art.
Following this tour it would be equally simple to continue on to San Francisco and surroundings and return from there, or to return to Los Angeles.
