Welcome to the Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland Inc Website

Welcome to the Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland Inc website.

Our Club is actively involved in promoting the breed to both show fanciers and the general public.

The Club also aims to raise the awareness of hereditary and genetic problems within the breed, and in the past has successfully held Eye Testing Days that have been well attended by our members.

The Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland also runs a Rescue service to ensure the welfare of the breed and many of our Rescue dogs are living grand lives with their new owners.  The Club vaccinates, Vet Checks and de-sexes all Rescue dogs before they are re-homed.

All financial members of the Club receive a quality bi-monthly newsletter which has show results, upcoming events, members news, upcoming litters and puppies for sale, stud dog listings and general articles about the Breed.

The Club holds three shows each year.  The first being our Open Show in February each year.  In Queensland, an Open Show is where the judge officiating is in 'training' and it is our chance as a breed club to give the 'trainee' Judge a quality entry of the breed.

The second show of the year is our Championship Show, traditionally held in July each year and the third another Championship Show held in December each year, where the Club endeavours to contract a Breed Specialist Judge to officiate.  We have in the past engaged the services of Local, Interstate and International Judges for our Championship Shows with great success and support with large entries.

The Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland Inc is also a proud member of the National Cocker Spaniel Council of Australia since it was formed in 1985.  National Cocker Spaniel Specialty Shows have been held since 1985 (the first being held in Melbourne) and we have proudly hosted the National Specialty in Queensland, with great success, firstly in 1994 and again in 2000.

Please take the time to look around our website.  We hope to continue to update the site regularly to keep you up to date with our club and all it's functions and of course tips on our lovely breed.
