About Agility.

Agility is a widely growing sport. Over the past years it has become more and more popular.
It's believed that Agility was first derived from basiclly, Horse Jumping.
There are many organizations throughout the world, that host different trials. (Check out the
(acording to an artical in WAG Waco Agility Group of Quail Creek) Agility first began as an exhibition sport in Great Britain and was imported to the United States in 1977.

Puppies can gradually be introduced to the obsticals, but shouldn't do any excessive running and jumping. In fact they shouldn't be doing any jumping until up to a year or two, it all depends on the breed. Ask you vet before getting your puppy into agility or before doing any jumping.

Puppies should use obsitcals designed for them, and/or ALWAYS with supervision.
If your puppy ends up with a tramatic experience with agility in any way, he/she will not do good in the future. Which is why you should always keep agility fun, exciting, and most importantly, safe.

Don't get me wrong though, dogs with aggression problems can still enjoy Agility at home in a controlled enviroment, but that dog will not be able to be entered in a trial. Who wants an aggressive dog anyway? So please, socialize your dog as much as possible. Try entering some agility and/or obediance classes.
