| [Updated October 17th, 2004] Coal's Training Journal is now being moved to Live Journal. You can check it out HERE. [Updated August 30th, 2004] Well now he knows the Tire, Tunnel, Jump, Teeter, and Dog Walk for Agility! Whoo! And he learns it VERY fast! Hopefully I will have my friend's agillity equipment here soon so we can practice together and Coal can learn more obstacles! I also hope to start training him around more distractions, specificlly other dogs. [Updated May 31st, 2004] Coal is a very quick learner, and has picked up Frisbee extremely well. He has also began training at Agility! So far only with the tire since it's my only obstical which is usable (haha!) But he was able to comprehend it in a matter of minutes, flying through the tire! His Obediance has also improved, as well has random manners around the house. He's now very good at "Leave It" when we tell him to leave a paticular item (or cat) alone. [Updated January 29th, 2004] Coal had passed Obediance Classes and did rather well, although worked better out of class then in. Was too hard on him with all the distractions, but at a young age, it is expected. Down is now one of his favourite tricks to do! He is doing very well inside, offlead with Heel, and can stay for much longer periods of time, with me out of the room! He has however developed some behavior problems which we are getting worked out ASAP. He had developed a mild case of food aggression, but is doing much better, and I can even take his bowl away from him now. He has also developed a snarky attitude, and problems with people grabbing his collar or scruff, which are being worked out, and I have no fear we will be able to overcome these obsticals. Speaking of obsticals! This winter I am working on some equipment for him, so will have many more agility updates in the summer when I get him into training, and hopefuly (cross your fingers for us!) a trial by next Fall! :-D [Updated November 08th, 2003] Coal is now in Obediance Classes, and seems to actually be getting worse. Well, he's learning slowly but surely, but gets over stimulated and being still a puppy, just wants to play with everyone else. Each class is like a chore to get him to settle down. But other then that, he's learning quite a bit. He now knows how to lay down very well, as well as Sit, Come, and is learning how to Stay and Heal right now. He can also fetch much better now. His "Wait" is getting better, and he has learned how to behave (most of the time) in a vehical and in the house. [Updated June 16th, 2003] Newest command that Coal's learning right now is "Down" which he's doing pretty good at!! He's deffently a quick learner!! :-D [May 2003] So far, the only command under this pup's belt is "Sit". But hey! He's still young! Well, he also kind of knows "come" but not so well... still needs some work. He can also fetch pretty good! lol |
