Welcome to Coach Denmark's Technology Discovery web page. Let me tell you a little Bit about myself. I was born in Pascagoula, Ms and attended Pascagoula High School. I graduated in 1981 and received a Football scholarship to the University Of Mississippi. After receiving my BS in Education, I came back to Pascagoula to live. My first teaching job came at Pascagoula High School where I taught PE and Drivers Ed. I left Pascagoula and did 1 year at Moss Point, where we won the state title in football. After Moss Point I went on to Gautier High where we had Two perfect seasons. Both years we lost in the first round of the play-offs. Phyllis my high school sweetheart and I have been married for 20 years or as she just said, WAY - WAY too long. We have two boys, Tyler age 15 and Hayden age 14. Both the boys play Basketball at Vancleave, Tyler at the high school and Hayden at the middle school. Tyler runs track for the high school and did well last year. He runs the two mile and one mile races. Hayden also played football for the Middle school and won MVP running back for the 7th grade team.This year Hayden made the 9th grade baseball team and had a great year. Tyler received his first letter in high school in the sport of basketball.
What is Technology
Discovery?
Technology Discovery
uses the modular instruction approach to allow students to experience different
workplace technologies. Working in two-person teams, students rotate through
a series of thirteen self-contained instuctional modules.
Course Goals
1) Identify
technology resourses and apply them within the Five career cluster areas
of Agiculture/Natural Resourse Technology, Business/Marketing Technology,
Health/Human Services Technology, and Engineering?Industrial Technology.
2) Experience
and utilize selected technological processes found within the five career
cluster areas.
3) Utilize
technolical systems to solve problems.
4) Apply and
transfer knowledge systems to solve problems.
5) Apply academic
competencies, including basic academic skills, thinking skills,and personal
qualities related to the workshop.
6) Identify
essential products abd services provided by the five career clusters.
7) Use measurement
and assessment skills, including language, math, and science.
8) Apply creative
problems solving abilities.
9) Apply team
work and leadership skills as related to the workplace.
10) Idenify the
available vocational-technical education program best suited for continued
career development.
