| Q) What is an RPG? A) RPG stands for Role Playing Game. An RPG is like writing a story online, only you're the main character in your story. You're the narrator too, as well as possibly a few minor characters. You write the story by talking to others online, who are in the same RPG. Q) What do "::IC::" and "::OOC::" mean? A) "::IC::" means that you are now in character and everything said without double parenthases around it is coming from your character. "::OOC::" means that you are out of character, and anything said is coming from you, not your character. Q) What is fan fiction? A) A fan fiction is where you take characters that you didn't create, like Alanna and Jon, and you write a story about them (possibly including some characters of your own). Q) How do I join Corus Knight School? A) E-mail the webmasters your profile. You'll recieve information about your sponsor. Q) Why are there so many profiles, but there don't seem to be that many people? A) Every person doesn't come to every meeting. Some people may show up very rarely, because it's difficult to find a time when most people are free, especially since the club spans multiple time zones. Also, sometimes people quit Q) How do I set up a plot? A) If you would like to create a plot, all you have to do is e-mail your idea to the webmasters. Be sure to include the following information in your e-mail: the theme of the plot, the date and time, your character's name, where in RP land the plot will occur, what chatroom the plot will be in (you are welcome to use the RP chat), and what RPers should wear or bring. Q) How do I only invite certain people to a plot? A) We would like to include everyone as much as possible. If you want to set up a time to RP in the chatroom with only certain people, you must e-mail them privately. Q) Can both my characters be at the same meeting? A) Only if you can walk and chew gum at the same time. There are two ways to do this. You can open two browser windows and type a different name in each chatroom. If you don't want to/can't do that, you can switch names in the middle of the chatroom. Q) How does the RP chat room work? A) The RP chat room is very simple. To send a message, type it and press enter or click the button to the right of the text area. If you accidentally press tab space the way you would to send an aol IM, your text will appear bold. Press tab space again to make it regular. If you want your text in a certain color, you have to click on that color every time you send a message. The same applies for bold text. To set your character's name in the beginning of the chat (or change it in the middle), type this: /nick Tom A message will appear in the chatroom: "Guest59392 is now known as Tom" If you want to talk to another RPer but don't know their e-mail or IM, you can double click on their name in the chatroom list. The chatroom can be enlarged by dragging from the upper left corner. To leave the chatroom, just close your browser window or go to another site. Q) What's the deal with exams? A) The exams have been demolished, but whether they will ever appear again we can't say.. Because the webmaster was so busy, exams didn't get sent out during the second session, and this session we didn't do many notes. It worked out well. Q) Those little ads in the upper right corner of the site are so annoying! How do I get rid of them? A) Sometimes those things can be hard to close, so it's easier if you just leave them alone. Eventually they'll fold up and/or close on their own. |
