Christopher Columbus was widely known as an Italian Mariner and Navigator. Christopher Columbus was born Chritoforo Columbo, then Cristobal Colon before finally settling with Christopher Columbus! He had 2 sons, Diego and Ferdinand and 2 brothers, Bartholomew and Diego. He married once and had his first kid. He then had a second kid with another woman but never married her, he left her a share in his will though. Christopher Columbus had 4 voyages, 1 in which he had to camp out for a year on an island.

Christopher Columbus had many challenges to face while he was living not only on the land, but also when he was sailing the ocean blue. One challenge that he had to face was trying to get support from royalty. King John III of Portugal turned Christopher down first. Columbus then turned to Queen Isabela and Kind Ferdinand for help and support. They granted him a small ammunity. They then after a couple of unsuccessful trys Columbus gained thier control and trust. That is how Columbus came over this particular challenge.

Christopher Columbus had a major impact on the world. He impacted many countries such as: Canada, U.S.A., Cuba, and much more. Christopher Columbus effected Canada in a major way. Columbus effected Canada because he discoved our neighbour that shares a continent with us. That effects us because America is a major resource centre to us Canadians. Columbus is important to use because in the U.S.A. Columbus has his own day! That is only just how Columbus impacted Canadians.

Chrisopher Columbus had many tools on his expeditions. On his first voyage he had 4 really important tools. One of the tools that he used was the quadrant. This tool was the most important tool on his first expedition. This tool helped Columbus find the North Star. This tool helped Columbus know where all the stars were and where they led to. It also helped him navigate home and to just plain navigate.

Christopher Columbus had many reasons to explore the world. One main reason was that Columbus always had a dream of making a fortune at sea. He had always wanted to make his fortune at sea after reading a book about Marco Polo and his expeditions.
