Sandwich and Martha's Vineyard, MA

As you can see, most of our digital pictures were used up in Vermont. So that didn't leave us with many shots of Cape Cod. We'll be adding to these pictures shortly.

One of my favorite parts about Cape Cod was the clam chowder! The food was great everywhere we went. One night in Sandwich, we decided to get a little dressed up and go out to a nice restaurant called Aqua Grill. We were having such a good time, and Alyssa looked so radiant, that I had to pull out the camera, and get a picture of her in the middle of dinner. It's a little off center, but that's because the restaurant was so dark, I couldn't see through the view finder. |

Our first two days in Sandwich, we did a lot of biking, during which, I left the digital at home. So this picture was from our last day, when we decided to go to Martha's Vineyard for the day. This shot was taken from Memorial Wharf, which overlooks the straight between Martha's Vineyard and Chappaquiddick (sp?). It is shot straight down the pier, into the water. We couldn't believe all the fish swimming around! A kid and his father were fishing from the wharf. As they dropped their lure in, you could see the fish swarming it. |

While the Vineyard was beautiful, by far the best part of the day was the ferry ride back to the Cape. We left at 6:15 PM in broad daylight. By the time we docked 45 minutes later, it was pitch black. The sunset was absolutely incredible! You could see every color of the rainbow as the sun sank lower into the sky. To top it off, the moon was nearly full, and rose directly behind us in the water. We went through a roll and a half of film on the boatride alone! We'll be adding some more pictures of the sunset soon. This shot was pretty early in the trip, before we had gotten very far from the Vineyard. These boats were pretty cool looking on their own... |

This self portrait was taken the morning we flew home. One of a handfull we took to kill time before heading back to Boston. We like it because you can see the reflection of me holding the camera in my glasses. |

While we were killing time, Alyssa looked over and spotted these guys. I was really excited, because I had been talking about Canadian Geese the whole time we were in Vermont (lots of people had geese statues in their yards, and she had never seen one up close before). They were pretty tame, and let us get within a couple feet of them. As we sat on a bench and watched them, one of them actually came over and nipped at our shoes. This actually was the second time on the honeymoon that Alyssa got to see an animal she had never seen before. In Vermont, she got to watch her first chipmunk stuff his face on the balcony of our bed and breakfast (Southerners!). |
