The Noble Gases
You need Java to see this applet.
Helium
Neon Noble Gases are in the group 18 of the periodic table. They consist of five different elements. Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, Randon. The Noble gases were thought to be inert until 1962, when Neil Bartlett, a British Chemist working in Canada, succeeded in making the first complex xenon gas. All the gases in the group are considered to be monatomic. They boil at low temperatures as only dispersion forces act betwen atoms. The noble gases are found in the atmosphere, and are isolated by fractional distillation of liquid air. The forces between the outermost electrons of these three elements and their nuclei are diluted by distance and the interference of other electrons. We have also taken note on that there is another Noble Gas. It is, for right now, called the Uuo Atom. It's name is undetermined for right now.
