In their own words:The purpose of this webring is to bring together all the sites of Canadian Homeschoolers. It can be your personal homepages, your homeschooled children's page - your business web site if it is connected to homeschoolers! - even your own biz site if you are a homeschooling parent - get my drift? 

Homeschool Social Register

In their own words: Offers a free networking service for homeschoolers. It has a separate page for almost every town and city in the United States and Canada (missing towns are easily added). Anyone who is homeschooling or thinking about it can list themselves on the page for their home town or city. And, the Register provides a method of contacting any other listed person without revealing anyone's email address or other personal information. Since the Register is organized by towns, cities, and counties within each state and province, it's easy to locate others who are homeschooling in your town or nearby.

The Franklin Institute Online: Living Things including classification of plants and animals

University of Michigan's Animal Diversity webpage: text pages of information on animals, with technical biology terms - for older kids or young ones with good language comprehension - used by high schools and colleges/universities

Education Network of Ontario - the Flat Stanley project. Flat Stanley is a paper character you send to other participants, who then take him around with them during their activities and record his adventures in a journal, which they send back to you, perhaps with pictures, so that you can learn more about other places and people. As a participant, you, too, host someone's Stanley and do some writing and picture-taking/drawing to send back.
