| Day 9 |
| The weather god blessed us in Switzerland, but the cold front was moving in. On the way to Munich, we stopped at Lindau, only island in Bavaria. It was still sunny. Instead of sitting down for lunch, I climbed the light house and visited the Catholic and Protestant churches. Eventually I had lunch: two scoops of gelato, a moist cake and a cup of coffee. Hey, I was on vacation.
We arrived in drizzly Munich, and had a group dinner at a beer hall. |

| Day 10 |

| We had a walking tour of Munich in the light rain. Rolinka asked the local guides about obtaining tables at the Oktoberfest, and was told that we should have reserved them nine months in advance. She, then, decided to try the largest tent. All the empty tables were reserved for 6 p.m. We still had almost two hours. With her usual negotiating skill and charm, Rolinka approached a handsome young waiter and got us a couple of tables! |

| Wearing the dirndl I just purchased at the department store, I toasted my new friends with the Spaten beer mug. We sang Ein prosit, ein prosit Der gemtlichkeit Ein prosit, ein prosit Der gemtlichkeit. as Rolinka taught us and we practiced on the bus earlier. Rick Steves Tour should reserve a couple of tables for groups which will be in Munich during the Oktoberfest, ja? |
| This bear has lots of stories to tell when he goes home. |
