Thai Language (pha-sa thai ภาษาไทย)

Introduction

Thai language is the official language of Thailand.

Although English is the second language in Thailand, every Thai must study English in the school and university. But many Thai cannot listen or speak English well. More than this, they always feel too shy to talk with foreigner, especially the westerner (farang ฝรั่ง).

It's better that you can speak some Thai, and the people always smile, feel happy and more relax when they hear you speak Thai.

Thai dialects

There are four basic dialects in Thailand : Northern, Northeastern, Central and Southern Thai. The Central Thai that is spoken in Bangkok, the capitol of Thailand, is the official Thai and use throughout the country. Though Chiang Mai people speak Northern Thai but they can understand Central Thai. So here we will use Central Thai.
