Wat Chet Yot (วัดเจ็ดยอด)
It was built in 1456. The chedi or stupa was copied from Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, India.

Note : Wat (วัด) means temple.

Wat Chedi Luang (วัดเจดีย์หลวง)
It was built in 1401. There is the biggest chedi or stupa in the North of Thailand, but the chedi was damaged after the earthquake in 1545. This temple is also home to the Pillar of Chiang Mai City and Mahamakut Buddhist university.
Wat Chiang Man (วัดเชียงมั่น)
This oldest temple in Chiang Mai was built in 1296. King Mangrai, the founder of Chiang Mai, lived here while the city was constructed.
Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep (วัดพระธาตุดอยสุเทพ)
It was built in 1386. This symbol of Chiang Mai is located on Doi Suthep Mountain, 12 km from Chiang Mai University. There are 306 steps of Naga staircase leads to the temple.
Wat Phrathat Doi Kham (วัดพระธาตุดอยคำ)
Old small temple on the mountain with big Buddha image and good view point to see Chiang Mai City.
Wat Phra Sing (วัดพระสิงห์)
It was built in 1345. This temple houses Phra Phuttha Sihing, one of the most important Buddha image in Thailand. The wall of the chapel are covered with murals from 2 Thai literatures, Sang Thong and Suwanna Hong.
Wat Suan Dok (วัดสวนดอก)
It was built in 1371. This temple is also home to Chiang Mai's Royal dynasty graveyard and Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya, Buddhist university.
Wat U-mong (วัดอุโมงค์)
It was bulit in 1296. The chedi or stupa is different from other temples with the tunnel at the chedi base.

Thaphae Road, free vegetarian food in the Vegetarian Festival (October).

Wiang Kumkam (เวียงกุมกาม)
The ancient capital before Chiang Mai, was built in 1286.
Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre
This museum shows the models of Chiang Mai since prehistoric era to the present (see panorama view http://www.chiangmaicitymuseum.org/). It opens 8.30 am - 5.00 pm, close on Monday. Tel. 053-217793, 053-219833.
Khuba Sriwichai Monument
Khuba Sriwichai (1878 - 1938) is one the most famous monk in Chiang Mai and the Northern Thailand. He led the people to build the road up to Doi Suthep Temple in 1934.
Three Kings Monument
By the Chiang Mai Legend, Three Kings (Phaya Mangrai, Chiang Mai king ; Phaya Ruang, Sukhothai king and Phaya Ngam Mueang, Phayao king) built Chiang Mai City in 1296.
