More about the area
Cherrytree is well placed to visit both the beautiful lake district
and the coast lines of Morecambe bay and Cumbria.
The lake district offers many attractions for those vistors wanting
peace and tranquillity this can be found on the many fells and quieter
waters. There is plenty to do for those wishing for a more active break,
mountain biking, climbing, boating, golf and horse riding are all
available. For those wishing to browse for gifts and treats Bowness and
Windermere are well worth the visit. There are numerous other towns and
villages all with their own character and all worth a visit within the
area.
Levens Hall famous for its Topiary, Holker Hall and Sizergh Castle are
all worth a visit. Cartmel village is famous for its Sticky Toffee
pudding. It is an attractive village with the imposing Cartmel priory
and a racecourse holding National Hunt meetings in May and August.
Muncaster Castle, with its gardens and Owl centre, and Ravensglass with
its miniature railway are also worth visiting if planning a trip up the
Cumbrian coast. Although a little out of the way Muncaster has plenty of events throughout the year from the 'Festival of Fools' to the torch lit walks around the grounds in the Late Autumn.
