Because most casual sailors don't do it, there are few descriptions of what it's like to sail after the sun sets.
During the day, you're bombarded with hundreds of tiny things that make us all love sailing. But, at night, other senses take over creating a moonlit symphony of sensation. It's peaceful, quiet, and simply surreal.
The race was secondary to the experience, but Scallywag and I finished third of eight boats.
Sadly, Jim was killed; the victim of his wife's trechary.
The RPYC honors him and his memory each year with a regatta.

Scallywag came in third again. The top two finishers, "Crescendo" and "Different Drummer", are friends. Throughout the past couple years, they've won every race. They're top notch sailors and I'm VERY satisfied to be (almost) in their company. After all, I just began sailing a few years ago.
Despite a little rain, we had an awesome trip. It's always fun to share an adventure with Kelley and Steve on Margon (Pearson 30).
I learn alot while racing. But, the more I do overnight sails, the more I lean towards becomming a cruising sailor.
