Everyone must be made aware that a hit list of people that the fundamentalists wish to assassinate exists. The list should be published and publicized.

2002, 2003 saw brutal attacks on students (female student dormitory) and journalists and political leaders. Many were killed and many were crippled. This year after the abortive assasination attempt on Dr. Azad, the police are again being used along with BNP goons to crack down on students.

Every day business men are being assasinated. Every day at least one... on some days up to 4 are murdered. Here is the story of one such assasination:

The capital city reeling from lawlessness and violence received another rude shock when a businessman, his son and their driver were reported to be missing since Friday noon. The Dhamrai Thana police of Dhaka district recovered the blood-stained body of the driver along with his car from the Kalampur bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in the night.

Police and family sources suspect that the businessman, Shamsul Haque (55), his son Russel Sheikh (29) and his driver Moazzem Hossain (35) might have been murdered following a business dispute.

Meanwhile, the Dhanmondi Thana police yesterday recovered 19 parts of a human body and the beheaded body of a youngman from near Abahani Math and Shikder Medical College and Hospital.

Shamsul Haque, a resident of 37 Abdur Rouf Road under Sutrapur Thana, and his son Russel went out of their house along with their driver in a private car (Dhaka Metro-Ga-14-1177) at about 12-30 pm on Friday. The businessman went out carrying Tk 2,00,000 following a telephone call from one Kajol, co-partner of a market, for finalising arrangements for the purchase of the property with 53 shops in the old city.

Shamsul Haque phoned his wife Sufia Begum at about 5-30 pm from the Sobhanbagh area saying that they were going to Savar along with Kajol but they did not return home till Friday midnight.

Meanwhile, the Dhamrai Thana police, recovered the blood-stained body of driver Moazzem Hossain from the Kalampur bus stand from the car at about 11-30 pm on Friday.

The police on the basis of the blue book of the car found the address of the businessman and informed his family members, Md Boktiar Alam, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dhaka.

The police, after the recovery of 19 body parts and the beheaded body of an unidentified youngman in the Dhanmondi area, picked up another son of the businessman and his son-in-law for identifying the bodies. They identified the body of the driver but failed to confirm the identity of the businessman or his son, the SP added.

All the recovered body parts and the body were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

A murder case was filed in the Dhamrai Thana in this connection. The family members of Shamsul Haque also lodged a General Diary (GD) with Sutrapur Thana implicating Kajol.

Murtad means Apostate and extremists label someone they wish to kill as an apostate.
