The First Step

The Five-year People�s Plan for the Sustainable Development of Chandor (2007-2012) was presented to the gram sabha of our village on 10 December 2006 in the panchayat hall. Accepting the plan, the chair of the gram sabha, the sarpanch, announced that the panchayat will soon call a special, or extraordinary, gram sabha to discuss the plan.

Please be present in large numbers at this gram sabha (when it is convened) to move and pass the resolution directing the panchayat to adopt the proposals we, that is you and me, have made in our first ever five-year plan for the equitable, sustainable and people-friendly development of Chandor. This resolution will mark a new beginning in the history of our village. It will be the first step we take in remaking Chandor into a better and fairer place for all of us.

In this five-year people�s plan we have visualised the Chandor of our dreams. Now let us all work together and translate these dreams to reality.
The year 2007 is already on us. The countdown to the end of 2012 has begun. Let�s get to work!
