A Quantitative Research Into Music Downloading By Teenagers...

Done By: Chai Yi 3F03, 2005
Projects Day, Category 2, Quantitative Research, Finals

This is the Web-Report for my project, 'Music Downloading'. Much effort has been invested into creating this webpage straight from html codec. It provides a valuable platform for insightful discovery into this topic, enabling internet users to learn more about music downloading, especially among teenagers in Singapore, being among the most internet savvy in the world. Enjoy!
Discussion and Implications

---------------------------------------------------------------

My first hypothesis was proved slightly wrong. While teens who had a lower allowance were more likely to download music, there was no clear trend illustrated in whether they indeed downloaded more music.

---------------------------------------------------------------

My second hypothesis was proved, but the results might not be very representative of the entire population. While dial-up internet connection suscribers indeed downloaded a drastically less amount of music when compared to the broadband suscribers, there were only 7 dial-up suscribers out of the total 200 sample size.

---------------------------------------------------------------

My third hypothesis was proved correct. A clear trend observed showed that the higher the household incomes, the less downloaded music they would have than those with lower household incomes.

---------------------------------------------------------------

My fourth hypothesis was dropped.

---------------------------------------------------------------

My fifth hypothesis was proved correct. Once they had a CD Walkman or a mp3 player, teens were determined to make full use of the generous storage capacity of the players.
