Callaloo
Callaloo Magazine publishes original works (essays, poetry, interviews, drama, short fiction and visual art) and critical studies of black writers worldwide. All manuscripts must be submitted in triplicate, one copy clearly bearing the author's name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and fax number (if available). The remaining two copies should not bear the author's name or any other identifying information. Each individual copy should be stapled. No more than 10 poems in a single submission. Bibliographies and documented material should follow Chicago MLA style. No e-mail or fax submissions. Final decisions require 6 to 9 months. Xavier Review

Seeks quality submissions of poetry, fiction, translations, personal essays, interviews and critical essays on cultural and literary topics. Special interest in Southern, Latin-Caribbean, and African American writing. Uninterested in dogmatic views. Appreciate an aesthetic sense that reflects social concerns, and humane investigations of the territory where the spirit and intellect keep each other honest. Accept work that shows an interesting mind at work on difficult ideas or experiences, especially where experience and ideas intersect written in language that is both rich and accessible.
