| The anime begins with the anouncing of the Galactic Wars, which is a competition between 10 Bronze Saints to see who will win the Golden Armor of Sagittarius and Seiya fighting Cassios for the Bronze Armor of Pegasus. Casios begins beating the shit out of Seiya, but then as he is about to chop of his ear, Seiya counters and cuts Cassios' ear off instead. Upon this Seiya unleashes his Pegasus Meteor and defeats Cassios and wins his prize. That night his sensei Marin tells him to escape because Shaina, Cassios' sensei is not happy about Seiya winning and she won't let him stay with it. Seiya runs away, but is confroted by Shaina whom he faces, he is no match for her, until he puts on his new armor of Pegasus. He manages to land a punch on her, but due to his inexperience he starts feeling heavy because of the armor's weight. Marin tells him that he needs to use his cosmo, since without it the armor is just a piece of metal and he does. He defeats Shaina by breaking her mask and leaves Athens to go to Japan. When he arrives he goes to the Gaude Foundation and discovers that Matsumasa Kiddo died and his daughter Saori was in charge. She urges him to fight in the Galactic Wars, but Seiya leaves. He goes to his old orphanage where he and his sister lived to ask for her, but Miho, one of his childhood friends tells him that she dissapeared shortly after his departure. She tells him that the Galactic Wars will be seen all over the world and if he competes he'll be seen by her sooner or later so he agrees to join. By this time Jabu had defeated Ban in the first match (Unicorn vs. Lionett). Seiya is put up against Geki the bear (Pegasus vs. Bear). Geki quickly starts beating up Seiya as his power comes from brute force much like Casios, but he had an armor to protect him. Seiya is losing as Geki gets him in a lethal choking hold, but Seiya remembers some words from Marin to use his opponent's advantage against him so Seiya crushes Geki's arms. By doing this he wins his first match. He goes back with Miho and they take his stuff to his new home near the beach. After that Hyoga in Siberia prepares to win his armor by attempting to break an ice mountain that has stood for hundreds of years. He does it without even breaking a sweat and gets the armor of Cygnus, with this he hopes to defeat Seiya himself. (He heard about the match by some means like newspaper or tv) He goes to Japan and joins the Galactic Wars and quickly faces his first match against Ichi. (Hydra vs. Cygnus) Hyoga lets Ichi attack him and use his special technique against him. Ichi boasts that no one can survive his attack because it's poisonous and attacks Hyoga with it trice. Amazed that it doesn't seem to affect Hyoga he finds out that Hyoga's armor is so cold that the poison doesn't even get out of his claws (he clawed people). Hyoga gets tired of this and defeats him with his Diamond Dust attack. He tells Seiya that he will be next. After that Seiya goes up against Shiryu who seems very mysterious so far. (Dragon vs. Pegasus) Shiryu quickly punches Seiya in the gut and the latter falls down on his knees and momentarily collapses. Shunrei, his "sister" comes and tells him that his sensei is dying and he tells her that he'll go with her in a short while, but tells her otherwise as Seiya gets back up. Seiya and Shiryu spar, but Shiryu once again knocks Seiya down with one hit. Seiya gets back up and Shiryu starts admiring his fighting spirit. Seiya tries out his meteor, but Shiryu blocks everything with his shield. All the other Saints are amazed by this, with the exception of Hyoga who tells them that there is a way of beating the dragon. Seiya gets back up after being pounded and runs towards Shiryu. He clashes head on into the shield and then falls to the floor as Shiryu misses a punch to the head and breaks his own shield. Shiryu not amused by this takes off his armor since it's no good without his shield. Seiya who doesn't like to have any advantages over anyone takes off his armor. He and Shiryu square off and Seiya unleashes his meteor, which Shiryu avoids with the exception of one punch that gets through and injures the dragon. Shiryu begins to perform his special attack, but Seiya throws another meteor at him and this time hits him twice. Seiya then confeses that he discovered Shiryu's weakness, he lowers his left fist which protects his heart before letting his attack go. Shiryu tells Seiya that he will win for his sensei and attacks Seiya with his special attack, the Dragon Fury, but Seiya counters with yet another meteor punch and upon landing Shiryu lands outside after being hit in the heart and Seiya lands on his feet to claim victory. The doctors rush in to help both titans out and they diagnose Shiryu as dead. Shunrei runs up to Seiya and begs him to save Shiryu by punching his heart with the same strength as before so he can get his heart going again. Seiya gets back on his feet and Hyoga aids him to get in the possition to launch his attack, meanwhile Shun helps Shiryu up so Seiya can hit his heart. Seiya throws the attack and hits Shiryu sending him and Shun into a wall and Shun smiles as he feels Shiryu's heartbeat again. Seiya collapses and is carried to the hospital by his fellow Saints, but Hyoga is dissapointed because neither Seiya or Shiryu are in good shape as to battle him. Seiya in the hospital is visited by Miho and some orphans, later by Shiryu and Shunrei. Shiryu tells Seiya that he felt someone special watching them while they fought. Now friends, Shiryu and Seiya sneak out of the hospital and to the coliseum where the tournament is held. Shun is now facing Jabu in the second round and is easily beating him with his chain. (Andromeda vs. Unicorn) Shun tells Jabu to give up because no one can get through his chain, but the Unicorn tries, but is beaten by it again. Sudenly the chain begins spelling out "Axia" on the floor. Shun is baffled, but then figures out that it's pointing to the box where the Golden Armor is at. Out of it comes out the Bronze Saint of Phoenix, Ikki! Shun's chain attacks, but Seiya arriving at the scene with Shiryu tells him that it's his brother Ikki. Shun slows down the chain a bit and Ikki catches it. Ikki berates Shun for being weak and takes out the Wolf Saint Nachi with one hit. He then leaves with the Gold Armor of Sagittarius and his henchmen. |
