"Giving Knowledge to Others .... "        Knowledge is more real in One's mind and so has great power when given to others. Having this in mind, to share the knowledge with others especially the C-DOT users, this site is dedicated. Those working in BSNL, in-charge of C-DOT Exchange maintenance may make use of the information available in the site. The hardware problems faced in the Switch Maintenance and other Field Problems are explained.

The present day trend in our BSNL is "Providing Rural Communication" with 'WLL' technology. (Wireless in Local Loop).  Let us discuss about this also in this web site. Share your views.

Know Your C-DOT :- C-DOT is the premier telecom technology development centre of India. C-DOT has developed a wide range of Digital Switching Systems for rural and urban applications. The range extends from a 200 lines Rural Automatic Exchange (RAX) to a 40,000 lines switching systems meant for urban applications. With CCS7 signaling, ISDN, Network Synchronization and V5.X capabilities, the switching systems based on C-DOT technology have a large presence in Indian telecom network. They account for over 40% of the total lines of the network. In terms of exchanges, the share is above 90% as C-DOT technology enjoys a leadership position in the rural network comprising small exchanges.

Small capacity Rural Automatic Exchange developed by C-DOT has revolutionized the rural telecommunications in the country and 32,990 exchanges in the rural areas have helped in providing connectivity to the villages. Nearly 25 million lines delivered so far for use in the Indian network.
