HOW WE CAN HELP:

The Law guarantees you the right to form, join and participate in the labor organization of your choice. Your employer must formally recognize employee oranizations and negotiate with them in good faith on salaries, work hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. We cannot stand alone, in the complex work environment, you will never obtain the rights you need. The only way you, as a member, can keep on equal footing with management is by becoming a member in an effective labor organization. You need strength, unity, political expertise, legal assistance, consumer services and qualified representatives who can safeguard your rights, dignities and economic conditions. By uniting with your co-workers through the California Professional Employees, you gain access to the wide range of representational services. The California Professional Employee is dedicated to the needs of workers to win dignity, rights and respect for all working people.

IUPAT Local 2345 is your organization; the one organization that can and will provide you with the best representation services available. By joining with Local 2345 now, you can share in the rewards that only come from being a member of a strong, dynamic group. You can also help your co-workers by adding strength to your union.

We can strengthen union power by organizing more unorganized workers in our field. With stronger numbers, we can win stronger contracts for California families

HOW WE ARE RUN

Local 2345 Is Run By It's Members. All of the decisions and most of the effort are made by you and your elected leaders. However, we are not inexperienced. We retain an excellent experienced labor attorney to provide legal advice and represent us when necessary. Local 2345 does a professional job of representing you, but we, the members, make all the decisions.

The Local is governed and administered by an Executive Board, elected by you, as a member, which establishes and implements Union policies. Each unit has a Chair who serves on the Executive Board. Every 3 years, you elect the Unit Chair and other Unit Officers. In addition, you and other members elect an Administrator who also serve on the Executive Board. You vote to make any
changes in the bylaws and you vote to decide whether or not the salary and benefit contract negotiated by your bargaining team is acceptable. In other words, you run your organization. Standing alone, you could never obtain all of these benefits, even at great personal expense. By uniting with your co-workers through Local 2345, you gain the strength you need to protect and improve your rights and to gain access to the range of representational services covered by the low cost of your membership dues.
