Sample Rituals

Below you will find a variety of rituals that I designed personally. If you want to use any of these rituals for personal use that is fine, but do not take any of these rituals and post them on your own website or others. Respect that I put a lot of personal time and effort into crafting each of these rituals and don't want them hither and yon with no credit given. Thank you!

Samhain Ritual:

Ingredients:
(Each person needs)
1 goblet of wine,
1 white candle,
Samhain Bundle

Preparation:
Before performing this ritual, be sure each person knows their assigned role, from casting the circle, to calling the Quarters and any other small details.

Cast the Circle:

"We open our hands and the circle grows,
It encompasses and protects us,
As above, So below,
This circle is sealed."

Call the Quarters:

"You, who surround us, Guardians, Watchers, The dead we were and are and the unborn, help us, guide us and bless us, for we are at one in spirit and in life."

Guardians of the north, powers of the Earth, Our Mother, guide us in this circle.
We summon thee!!

Guardians of the east, powers of the air, Our Breath, bless us in this circle.
We summon thee!!

Guardians of the south, powers of fire, Our Passion, inspire us in this circle.
We summon thee!!

Guardians of the west, powers of water, Our Primordial Home, protect us in this circle.
We summon thee!!

And in the Name of (insert the name of your chosen Guardian God/dess) We cast this circle,
In perfect love and perfect trust.
As We will it, So Mote it Be!!"

Each person Light their candle,
With Samhain Bundle in hand, everyone say:

"By bone, blood, breath, and tears,
We call upon our honored ancestors.

By Earth, Air, Fire and Water,
We call upon our honored ancestors.

By Cerunnos, god of the earth and of death and rebirth.
By Cybele, goddess of air, of fertility.
By Agni, god of fire, the essence of life.
By Inanna, goddess of water and destruction.
We call upon our honored ancestors.

With our hearts, bodies, minds and spirits,
We call upon our honored ancestors."

Hear us tonight, when the veil between our worlds is thin."

Going around the circle, each person announce this to the group:

I am (YOUR NAME), son/daughter of (YOUR MOTHER), grandson/daughter of (MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER), great-grandson/daughter of (MATERNAL GREAT-GRANDMOTHER). I honor my foremothers and invite them to this ritual.

I am (YOUR NAME), son/daughter of (YOUR FATHER), grandson/daughter of (PATERNAL GRANDFATHER), great-grandson/daughter of (PATERNAL GREAT-GRANDFATHER). I honor my forefathers and invite them to this ritual.

Everyone take a seat, and says to themselves and the ether:

"Bless this token of the old year" - Dig a hole in the ground
"And take with thee my wishes for the new year" - Bury your bundle.

Raise goblet to lips and say aloud together:

"I send with thee my hopes for thy joyful rest.
Go now, back to the world of spirits, and know my love for thee lives on despite thy death,
Forever shall thou live in my heart."

Take a drink from the goblet, then pour the remaining wine over the buried bundle.

Close the Circle:

"Guardians of the North, East, South and West:
We Thank Thee for thy assistance
May we meet again in love and trust."

Move to the center of the circle, raise your hands above your head and slowly bring them down to your sides while moving around the circle saying as you go:

"We close our hands and the circle shrinks,
This circle is open
But never broken"

Everyone should then adjourn to the place set aside for festivities.
