"Live a spirit of simple joy..." -- from the Blue Fish Winter/Resort 1998 catalog
Whether your joys are simple or complex, you will surely find joy in the simplicity of a Blue Fish Sale. When Blue Fish has its end-of-season sales, prices are at least 50% off the original retail as they clear their in-store racks of past-inventory merchandise. But like all good things in life, it's all a matter of timing! This page will attempt to keep up-to-date with what's happening in the stores and the catalog...special sales events and promotions...end-of-season sales....Friends and Family sales...and all that jazz. If you have sale information that you'd like to share with others...whether you're a Blue Fish shopper or a boutique owner who sells Blue Fish...email me at
[email protected] and it'll be posted here, OR post your own message on the SALES/SPECIAL EVENTS message board at the bottom of this page. August 3, 2000 BIG SUMMER SALE BEGINS AUGUST 3RD!!! Now that the Transitions line is in and Fall is on its way, Summer is on sale! The word is that much of the Summer 00 pieces will be at $59 or less. This will certainly include Summer 1, and maybe more of the Summer line (2 and 3). Some of you may have gotten postcards already, and although phone orders are supposedly not being taken, the Austin store says it will be happy to do phone orders. Their best phone girl is Sara...yes, those are their exact words. When you place your order, PLEASE say you read it on Blue Fish Tales...that will help the stores to know how much of an impact this site has! No word yet on a date for the legendary Fall Friends and Family Sale at Tinicum Park, PA...just across the river from Frenchtown, NJ...Worldwide Headquarters for Blue Fish and ground zero for BF pilgrims. When it is engraved in stone, the dates will be right on this page. So keep checking back! August 2, 2000 WILDFLOWERS HAS BLUE FISH AT UP TO 75% OFF!!! A Blue Fish Concept Store, Wildflowers (at Luke's Locker in Dallas & Fort Worth, Texas) is selling leftover Spring and Summer 1 at incredible prices! They do a brisk phone business, and the person to talk to is Katie. Call Luke's at 214-528-1290 and ask for Katie in Wildflowers. THE JUNE "FRIENDS & FAMILY" SALE: Temps were in the mid 90s for much of the weekend as Blue Fish held its annual Friends and Family Sale June 8-11 under the tent at Tinicum Park, PA, across the river from Frenchtown, NJ, Ground Zero Blue Fish. But the stupefying heat and humidity did not dampen the enthusiasm of the hoards of BF shoppers who showed up...including many names familar to BFTales fans and eBayers. And there were many familiar faces in the crowd...models from past and current BF catalogs...now THAT was a hoot, seeing them in person! Though many BFTales fans were not able to stay later for the reception at the BF store in Frenchtown, those who did attend were overwhelmed with the food and the friendliness of the staff. Tina Woolverton and other BF staff baked cookies that would have made Martha Stewart blue with envy....there was punch with flower petals frozen in an ice ring....fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese and crackers....and everyone got a chance to meet Jennifer Barclay and her father David, Gary Zavodnick, Christine, Tina, Chris from the Catalog and Nicki the store manager at Ftown and many others....my apologies if I didn't name you. We also got to see the next catalog which had just come off the press, and will be arriving in your mailbox shortly. But that was just the first day of adventure! Over time, and once I get photos developed, you'll get an indepth account of the weekend in a new page, "Visit To Frenchtown." To do the trip and the whole BF experience justice, it'll take a few chapters for the tale to unfold. Think of it along the lines of the old serial movies of the 1930s and 40s. Keep in mind that this sale takes place TWICE a year. There is another Friends and Family Sale scheduled for Tinicum Park in the fall, sometime in October, possibly around the middle of the month. Those who flew in to this most recent sale can vouch that it's a BF fan's fantasy...well worth the plane ticket and the cost of overnight accommodations. (Just ask cubbyscloset and dgae1.) The prices are fabulous, AND the friendships that form are even better. Do consider coming to the sale, by car, by plane, or by boat down the Delaware River! I'll see you there!
