ABOUT BLUE FISH TALES
This site is a fan-driven labor of
love...started by one person, but now maintained by many.
The
actual Blue Fish Tales site (which you
are reading now) and the Blue Fish Tales message board (through
ezboard.com) are maintained by Linda (bluecarp). This site provides
stories about some of the women who wear BF (others are posted on the message
board, and you can add your story there), messages from Jennifer Barclay,
details about how Blue Fish sizes its items, a bit of history about the Blue
Fish Clothing Company, commentary by the webmaster (VIEW through a fisheye lens)
and much more. With the advent of the new message board (begun in January 2001)
many of the pages on the menu bar at left have been superseded by forums on the
new board, which allow for threaded discussions. Feel free to browse the pages
at left, but please note that much of the current content of these topic areas
is now available at the new Message Board (www.ezboard.com, and search for Blue
Fish Tales)
The Blue Fish Friends
site (where photographs of visitors to/friends of Blue Fish Tales are shared
and where you can match a face to an email or a posting) is maintained by
Barb (cytrex). She's always looking to update the site with current photos
of Blue Fish Friends, so please send submissions to her...details are on her
website.
The Blue Fish Vintage
Catalog site is maintained by Tracy and was created with help from Pat (juscurious).
This site is an absolute must-visit for any fan of Blue Fish who wants to
accurately identify the clothes in her closet....the site contains line drawings
and color swatches from past years. The Vintage Catalog site is not yet
complete....so if you have past catalogs that are not yet on the site, contact
Tracy (via her site) to find out how you can share images from your catalog with
the wider world of BF fans.
The Blue
Fish Consignment site is maintained by Pat (juscurious) and is the place to
buy both old and new Blue Fish, and to sell your previously worn BF or new BF
that just doesn't work for you (ah, the perils of shopping by phone! don't
worry, it happens to all of us). Details about how to post your items or
purchase items are all at the website, so go take a look...you'll be glad you
did.
The Blue Fish Swap site is
maintained by Linda (bluecarp) and is the place for you to trade/swap your BF.
No money is exchanged here, unless both parties agree....the swap was designed
as a way to pass along BF and meet other BF fans, and many successsful swaps
have occurred there.
The Art-To-Wear
site is maintained by Deborah and is a place where you can sell your non-BF
items that would nonetheless appeal to BF friends, such as Flax, Allywear,
Jackie Loves John, Eileen Fisher, David Dart, Staley Gretzinger...the list goes
on and you get the picture. Many GREAT deals have been snagged on this site, so
don't say "I only wear BF" unless you've checked out this site.
LINKS
TO ALL THE ABOVE SITES CAN BE ACCESSED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BLUE FISH TALES HOME
PAGE.

SEE VINTAGE BLUE FISH ONLINE! Now you can
identify your mystery pieces thanks to the new Blue Fish Vintage Catalog
website - Click here to enter that site!
(You can also access it from the
VINTAGE BF page on the menu bar at left.) Thank you to Tracy for
taking on the role as webmaster for that page, and thank you to PAT
(jus-curious) for scanning the many pages from past catalogs that until
now were unavailable for public viewing. This was something the webmaster
of this site has been unable to do, and I'm grateful that they took on
this huge task!
A
NEW BFConsignment SITE IS ONLINE!!...
for those of you who'd like to sell your own pieces of BF without using
eBay!
Recognizing that taking a photo (if you're fortunate enough to have a
digital camera) and writing a whole lot of descriptive copy into those
complex auction forms can be headache-inducing, Pat (jus-curious) has
created BFConsignment, a web site to sell your unwanted BF items. Many
have used it already, and many more are browsing.
Follow this link to see
the site. Thanks to Pat who is already doing a better job of keeping
up with BFConsignment than I am doing with BFSwap!
FRIENDS
& FAMILY SALES IN TINICUM PARK, PA and SYRACUSE, NY NOW HISTORY! The
tents are down, the boxes packed, and some of the items now probably up for
grabs on eBay. Many flew in and
drove in for the sale at Tinicum, and Syracuse, NY was packed on Thursday when
the webmaster dropped in for the first day of sales there. Though the
merchandise from Summer 00 was plentiful, many felt this was not the best of the
BF sales. However, this didn't dampen shoppers' spirits....far from it! The
weather was spectacular and the fall colors intense in the Delaware River
Valley. The word appears to be that Blue Fish is phasing out the other sales
they've done in the past, and they expect to conduct sales only at Tinicum and
Syracuse. We'll keep you posted if others do occur.....

BLUE FISH OPENS A NEW STORE IN
BETHLEHEM, PA - with popular former Outlet Manager Reetha as its new
manager. (See sidebar on the BFTales HOME page for phone number and
address!)
I spoke to Reetha on the phone on Monday...the store is still being worked
on but they're open for business. They don't have any Transition so don't
call there for it...but they do have a good selection of Fall... and
Winter is coming in...AND she says they have the Iona Jumpers in stock,
which I understand many stores have sold out of. She tells me they're only
a short drive from Frenchtown...and the grand opening is this Friday, Oct.
6th. If you're coming in for the Tinicum sale, why not drive up to
Bethlehem and check out BF's newest store!
SPECIAL PIECES AVAILABLE TO BFTALES FANS - a special edition
Friends and Family t-shirt and special prices at Bethlehem on Celtic
t--shirts. Gary Zavodnick posted the following message on the
BFTales Message Board:
Hey everyone !!! I have some good news for you. WE have produced a limited
edition long sleeve tee shirt for the Friends and Family Sale this month.
I was sitting in a planning meeting at thought " Who are better
Friends and Family" then the people I see hear on this site.
SOOOOOOO.. I am offering this Tee Shirt to all of you first. It is
our regular long sleeve tee with small bottom side vents. It comes in
Black and a Deep Wine color in all three sizes. The front has the words
Blue Fish printed in a Gothic type arch and the back has the words
"Friends and Family " painted on it. The cost is $58 which is a
special price for this limited edition shirt.
AND IF YOU HAVEN"T YET GOTTEN A T-SHIRT FROM FALL 00....here's
your chance, at a special sale price extended to readers of BFTales. To
celebrate the opening of the Bethlehem store, and in the spirit of the
neighborhood's "First Friday" celebration each month....
the B'hem store is selling Fall t-shirts at a reduced price....here's a
reprint of Gary's posting:
For the opening we will be selling the
Fall Short Sleeve Tees at a Special Price of $39. As you may remember they
were Celtic Prints. I have told Reetha that anyone who calls mentioning
this post she may sell them at the same price.
More proof that it pays to read BFTales daily!
ARE YOU ABLE TO JOIN US...
for the Fall Blue Fish Friends and Family Sale in Tinicum Park, PA? Or the
Syracuse, NY Blue Fish Friends and Family Sale the following weekend?
A fair number of people are flying in...and many are staying at the
Flemington Ramada Inn...for the Tinicum sale. For those who can't make it
but live near Syracuse, NY, the sale packs up and moves there starting
