The time has come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE FINALLY HAVE A BASEBALL FIELD AT VAN NUYS HIGH SCHOOL! After years of determined work on the part of the athletic department, the field has become a reality. The Wolves just completed their first season of play on the field, and although their record was not the best in the league, they only had the field for the last few games. Next year, with the field for the entire season, look for great things.
The location for the field can be seen from this aerial shot. The baseball field is located to the right of the football field in what appears to be a large dirt patch.

BASEBALL FUNDRAISING

I am heading up a number of different fundraisers in order to get some new uniforms to go along with our brand new field. We have been successful thus far as we have received contributions from local businesses including Galpin Ford and Big Valley Dodge. Even though the McDonalds at 18761 Sherman Way claimed that they would not sponsor our team because we were too far away from them (4.8 miles) I would never suggest a boycott of that restaurant...........

Our fundraising efforts recently paid off with a $5000 grant form Power 106's "Knowledge Is Power" fund. Big Boy and the neighborhood recently came to V.N.H.S to present us with a check and "throw it down as only the power mixers can". Check out some of the pictures:

Lastly, as of the 2005 baseball season, the J.V. Wolves will have a new coach. It has been my extreme pleasure to work with such an energetic bunch of young men. Their success as human beings will far outweigh any victories that they have on the ballfield, and I am a better man for having been in contact with all of the wonderful players that I was graced with. Continue to improve, and above all else, BEAT MONROE!!!!!!!!
