-As we begin our unit on "the great storytellers," the fourth director (after viewing works from Orson Welles, Franics Ford Coppola, and Steven Spielberg) that we are watching is M. Night. Shyamalan. The first of his movies that we will be watching is The Sixth Sense. The fact sheet for that film is here. The second movie that we are watching from Shyamalan is a thriller entitled The Village. The fact sheet is here

-As we continue our unit on "the great storytellers," the second director that we are watching is Alfred Hitchcock. The first film that we will watch is a thriller entitled Psycho. The fact sheet is here. We will follow it up with the 1998 remake of the film whose fact sheet can be found here. The next two Hitcock classics that we will watching are Rear Window and North by Northwest and their fact sheets can be found by clicking on the movie names.

-After watching "great storytellers" like Franics Ford Coppola, M. Night Shyamalan, Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, Orson Welles, and of course Steven Spielberg, we would be remiss if we did include one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed directors of the 20th century, Martin Scorsese. We will close out the semester viewing six of Scorsese's most successful films:

Goodfellas

Casino

Gangs of New York

and

The Aviator
