Volunteer
Men Needed
The Beckly Centre is very keen to encourage some male volunteers to come forward to work with and for young people attending the Youth groups particularly on alternate Saturdays between 10 am and 3 pm We want to introduce more sporting activities and opportunities to our programme and need interested volunteers to foster and develop the young people's skills, ability and willingness to participate in new or different but more active sessions. Experience is not essential but a willingness to get involved and committed to the group is so that together we can provide social and recreational activities especially for some of the teenage boys coming to these sessions. Full disclosure through Criminal Records Bureau required.

Opportunities for volunteering and work experience
The Beckly Centre is keen to attract helpers who are prepared to commit themselves to assisting on a regular basis. There would be hands on work enabling and facilitating those young people attending sessions to participate in and benefit from the activities offered and also in providing a transport service. The work may involve personal care of the young people and may be either centre based or away from Plymouth on Residential Breaks.

As well as this assistance is also needed with general maintenance and office administration, which does include fundraising. Personal references and police checks are required. During all sessions operated by the Centre there are always regular staff workers available so enthusiasm and the willingness to get involved in all aspects of the entertainment and care of these less able young people attending the Beckly centre is more importnant than previous experience. Wherever possible support for training and out of pocket expenses will be given. We hope that people from all ages and from all walks of life will be willing to share their skills and talents with us, bringing with them new ideas, opportunities and their enthusiasm to help us not only operate a quality well supported programme but also offer assistance with practical tasks such as general building works and office administration. Professional advice and expertise that will help us provide the best service for these disadvantaged young people is also sought. Visits to the centre, by arrangment, are welcomed so that opportunities for voluntary work experience can be discussed. We appreciate that everyone's free time is valuable but we would welcome anyone who would like to make a difference to young peoples lives to join us in our efforts to provide services and facilities for those with Physical and Learning Difficulties, because through working together with them WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!
