Sessions at Beckly offer children and young people access, within a peer group, to a wide range or activities such as:

  • arts
  • crafts
  • music
  • games
  • sports
  • cooking
  • active play

As well as activities, Beckly also offers opportunities to:

  • socialise and interact with other children and young people
  • developing and practising life skills
  • meet new people
  • make friends
  • to be included in trips and outings to other community venues and events

Play Schemes

Play scheme session operate during all school holidays both weekdays and weekends from 10am to 3pm with different ability groups running on separate days so that activities and social interaction is within a peer group of similar ability, age and interests. All sessions need to be pre-booked and paid for in advance and there is a limited transport service available for all play scheme sessions.


Weekend Clubs

Weekend clubs are run during school term time usually from 10am to 3pm and are open to all children and young people with additional needs, with the Senior group running on Saturdays fortnightly and Junior group on Sundays fortnightly. Sessions must be pre-booked and paid for in advance and there is a limited transport service avaiable.


Junior / Senior Clubs

  • Junior clubs are open to 5 to 12 year old children of any ability
  • Senior clubs are open to 12 to 18 year old young adults

Over 18's

As well as creating new and interesting activities for the children, Beckly runs an over 18's club on Monday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. Fees are as for the evening youth clubs.


Special Projects

With the addition of our own 16-seater minibus with wheelchair adaptation we are now able to provide two special social inclusion projects that focus on enabling children and young people to enhance their personal and social development by focusing on giving them chances to broaden their life experiences through an introduction community based activities and venues:

Reaching Out

for ages 8 to 13 offering social, play and community activities this session is available on alternate Sundays.

BINGO (Being Included N Going Out)

for ages 14 to 18 for short breaks to local places of interest. For example Paington Zoo, Ivybridge Donkey Sanctuary.


Sessions are operated on a group basis with a maximum of 20 places available for each session. Whilst we maintain good staff to client ratio we only offer one to one care where it has been specially arranged and funded.
