Do you sit in the middle lane and refuse to move over to the right?
Do you feel safer in the middle lane?
What would you do if you suddenly blew a tire and had to pull over, with the faster traffic whizzing by on your right?
The Rules of The Road. Who made them up??
"Slower vehicles should stay in the right lane."
"Faster vehicles should only pass on the left."
"Eat your vegetables."
"Don't spit into the wind."
Too many rules?
Chances are, if you're hauling or towing something, or driving a motor home, you'll be going slower than the rest of the traffic. That's fine.
Your safer that way.
That's right! Safer.
Heavy loads, trailers and motor homes are bigger, heavier and harder to stop and control than a regular car.
Well, Duh! You already knew that didn't you!
Did you?
If you're going slower than the rest of the traffic and you're in the middle lane you're a hazard to the other drivers.
One of those speedier cars may not expect to be there and have to swerve around you and into another vehicle. Plus, you won't be making any friends either!
Stick to the right lane as much as possible. Your safer there. If the traffic suddenly slows or stops in front of you, the shoulder is already there for your escape. "Keep an out."
Remember, a heavier vehicle will take a longer distance to stop compared to a regular car.
