Convoys of Motor-Homes, Campers etc., with or without boat trailers rolling along in the middle lane about 10 to 15 km (5 to 10 mph) under the posted speed limit. Car drivers, upon seeing a large truck in the same lane behind them, will slow down slightly until the truck gets closer. As the truck driver is about to pass, the car will suddenly slow down, making the truck driver apply the brakes to avoid hitting the rear of the car. THEN the car will speed back up to it's original speed. Almost the same as the above, the car driver will "hold" the truck or prevent it from passing (or gaining a bit of speed for the hill) until they are at the bottom of the hill and then take off leaving the truck to crawl up the hill holding up other traffic. I guess by now you can tell I drive a truck! A car will drive along beside a truck for a while, (sometimes holding up traffic behind it), the speed up and jump directly in front of the truck, hit it's brakes, maybe signal and turn into a parking lot or side street. On a two lane rural road, THREE minutes from home, pass everyone and everything, 20 to 30 km (15 to 20 mph) over the limit and the flow of traffic, just to get home 12 seconds faster. Usually you have to sit behind the idiot at a traffic light! DUH! And on and on and on...... |
