The FACTOR Video Fund is to assist with the financing of music videos to support currently released albums by Canadian artists. The album which the video supports must have FACTOR-recognized distribution. The maximum amount of funding available is $12,000 which represents 50% of the total eligible budget. FACTOR will recognize donated services only from royalty performers. A donated service is made if the royalty player agrees to perform in the video without receiving payment for his services. Royalty performers are those who will be receiving monies from the sale of the product. Ineligible costs include shipping or travel costs, management fees, legal fees, promotion, manufacturing, local transportation and GST. Cash payments are not acceptable to FACTOR. No company can qualify for more than 2 videos per fiscal year (April 1, 2001 - March 31, 2002) and no more than 1 video per artist per year. Each artist is further limited to 3 FACTOR video grants in the lifetime of the program.
