Religions

The majority of religions practiced by the peoples of Viet Nam is Buddhist. The majority of the

cultural heritage has been passed down from China. Confucianism is the basis for which state and

society has been built upon. Most peoples worship their ancestors and there is a wide spread belief

in spirits. Every village has a temple, called a Dinh, which is regarded as the home of local spirits

and gods. There are about two million Vietnamese Christians due to French missionaries. For a
