Using LFO to Modulate the Filter Cutoff

Select pad sound/sample and choose pad "edit"

Filter Settings
  • Filter Mode = Adjust to taste
  • Link = FLT2 uses FLT1
  • Resonance = Adjust to taste
  • Filter Cutoff = Adjust to taste (1)
  • Cutoff Mod Src = LFO
  • Cutoff Mod Amt = Adjust to taste

    Pitch Settings

  • LFO Pitch Mod Amt = 0

    LFO Settings

  • LFO Shape = Adjust to taste (1)
  • LFO Rate = Adjust to taste (1)
  • LFO Depth Mod Src = Mod Whl or Pressure (3)
  • LFO Depth Mod Amt = Adjust to taste
  • LFO Delay Time = Adjust to taste
  • LFO Key Restart = On (2)

Notes:

  1. Experiment with the filter cutoff amount and the LFO's shape & depth to get the desired effect.
  2. Change "LFO Key Restart = Off" if you don't want to re-trigger the LFO. This is a good idea if you plan on triggering the sample very quickly like 16th notes.
  3. By setting "LFO Depth Mod Src = Mod Whl or Pressure, you can have real-time control over the amount of LFO applied to the filter cutoff.
