just set a negative value for the boost (this is
called cutting). Using the EQ effects, you may also
find it useful to apply the cut using the midrange
EQ, cranked down to 50 Hz - you can use the Q
parameter to boost/cut over a wide (low Q) or
narrow (high Q) range of frequencies. Personally
I prefer changing the filter type to one of the
low-pass/hi-pass combinations. At first you don't
hear much because the filter 2 (hi) cutoff will
default to 127, which means only the very highest
frequencies will be allowed through the filter.
Knock the filter down to 10 or something and it
will just cut out the bottom 50 or 60
hertz. I
strongly suggest you set up the low/high-pass
filter combination, apply two midi controllers to
cutoff modulation (and perhaps a third to
resonance), and then tweak away to get a better
idea of the possibilities offered by the filters. A
saw or square wave is the best kind of wave to
experiment with. Anig
