Enhanced CD Lesson Number 1

Unk's Enhanced CD Lesson Number 1

---------------------------------

Folks:

All you need to know about the basic Enhanced CD is this:

Audio session first

Data session second.

So, at the end of your album, say, you can put your video; or your bio; or your CD-ROM presentation. Very easy in fact. Most burner programs like Easy CD Creator have an option to burn this type. The important thing is to get the audio session first, and the data last. By default, a regular cd player reads only the first session, and vice-versa for non-multi-session cd-rom drives.

If your burning program won't do this, you can still do it by burning your audio session, and closing the session but leaving the disc open. Then, write your data session after.

Easy, huh? The hard part is the content. You need good content, presented in an appealing way. That's where I come in (heh heh shameless plug follows)

If anyone is interested in having mastering work, Enhanced CD, lo-fi music videos or CD-ROM presentations done, that's what I do; and it looks freakin cool. My Studio "FibiiSonic" has been targeting indy bands and dj's that want mastering done professionally on a tight-ass budget - *AND* bands who want to go the extra mile and put cool content on the album as well - in the CD-ROM section. Very cool - take it out of your cd player, plop it in your PC or Mac, and *shizznit*!

- click here for the video

- click here to email the band

etc etc.

We do everything from the mastering to the graphic art to producing the video, editing the footage and putting it into a Macromedia package or browser-oriented presentation. On the mastering tip, it can look easy, but if you really want your album to sound pro, get someone who knows what the hell they're doing - like Cape! ;-) Actually, Cape wrote a kick-ass article about mastering. I keep it under my pillow, letting it osmose into my brain. (maybe he would be kind enough to post the link again; Cape?)

If anyone is interested, email me private and we can chat about it

Regards,

Unkhakook.
