One-to-one individually-tailored puppy training allows sessions to be conducted using the most appropriate pace and methods for your own puppy's temperament,
its stage of learning and your individual requirements and circumstances, rather than the
standardised approach that has to be adopted within group class lessons.
Puppies and owners can benefit from learning faster and more easily by using this personalised approach, with appointments provided at times to suit you, within the convenience and familiarity of your home and local surroundings, which after all is where you will mostly require your dog to behave.
As well as practical "hand-on" training the sessions also include detailed instruction regarding normal dog behaviour and social development and how this relates to the training techniques used. This can greatly help to anticipate and so prevent many potential problems that may otherwise develop into inappropriate behaviour as your puppy grows up.
Puppy training is normally only offered for puppies up to about 4 months of age that have not yet been introduced to standard obedience commands. It is not intended for puppies that are proving knowingly disobedient or that are exhibiting problematic behaviour. Availability is limited to a more restricted mileage range than behavioural
consultations.
Puppies or older dogs that have specific behavioural problems (including reluctance to learn or deliberate non-compliance to familar commands) require the detailed assessment and more complex remedial measures provided within the format of a behavioural consultation.
