Problem solving: logical reasoning, flexible thinking, analogies

Science:  continue Voyage of the Mimi (symbiotic relationships in nature, organic gardening),  classification of animals (vertebrates-Phylum Coelenterata, Platyhelminthes, Nematoda,) 

Language Arts: vocabulary worksheets on "The Hobbit" ; view the film and compare/contrast with the play

Research Project: choose an animal for research; begin notetaking in library

Research your endangered animal. Look for the following:

Reason for existence
How long in existence
Why endangered
Accomplishments to society
Proud family background
Design of animal important to survival
Location of habitat

Choose at least three items to thoroughly describe your animal.

Make a coat of arms representing your animal. Write a story about a particular event (fiction) that the animal experienced. Word process your writing.
