Litar Bara saw fruition at the end of 1996 with a series of design sketches. Unfortunately, this was at about the time that Lubisan was trying to finish his epic Inner Beings project.
Despite being fully scripted and with a 20-page lay-out already complete, Litar Bara was shelved along with other ideas as Lubisan went into semi-retirement.
"The basic design was finally done in 1996, after - or was is it during? - the Inner Beings project. Oddly enough I did a full 20-page lay-out on it. Fully scripted and all but I didn't get around to it. Life got in the way, you know."
The titular lead is like an amalgamation of the Predator alien and the X-Men's Wolverine. Couple that with the one-minded determination of the Terminator cyborg and you can understand why Litar is the ultimate killing machine.
Whilst essentially human, Litar has an embedded endo-skeleton that is made up of traces of titanum, boron, kevlar, magnesium and carbon-fibre compound. And that's not all.
Litar, is literally a one man armoury. His left hand contains a knife gauntlet while those same hands can morph into razor sharp claws. The right hand can be removed and replaced with a selection of weapons that range from a 45-calibre man-stopper to a 42mm cartridge launcher that can fire either armour-piercing, flash grenade or shooting star cartridges.
And if you think that is already an overkill, Litar carries two staves behind his back that shoot-up and form a deadly spear. He has infra-red & ultra-violet vision. His mask comes with a motion-sensor and is tightly bonded to his cybernatic skin. This is the deluxe model with all the options.
Characters created for this unfinished work include Killian - the evil-looking dude on the left, Midas, Inspector Morgan, Rajawali, Jasmine Chew, Chief Nazieman and Dr. Saleha.
