The Data Downloads Page
The Smoking Survey Data Files:
Dirtydat.sav The original version of the Smoking Survey data file, as it was entered from the questionnaires by the students

Cleandat.sav: The final version of the data file, following cleaning.  Also includes all the derived variables used in this book. Note: Both files are saved zipped and you will therefore need a utility such as Winzip to unzip them

The Smoking Survey Questionnaire and Codebook:
Question.doc: A Word for Windows file (also in PDF format here) containing the final version of the questionnaire as it appears in the appendix to Chapter 3.  Downloading this will enable you to make any amendments that you want and to print out multiple copies if you intend to use it in interviewing.

Codebook.doc: A Word for Windows file (also in PDF format here) which gives information on all of the directly observed and derived variable included in the cleandat.sav data file.  Includes variable names, value labels, missing value codes and level of measurement, plus information on how derived variables were created.
