[Entry to Jekerstraat school, with 1936 ghost] 1936 Ghost: Margot Frank, about ten years old. Getty images has a photo online of Margot standing in front of her school in 1936.

Margot died of typhus in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at 18 years old. (back to first ghosts)

Today:
It is still a school today (photo taken in spring 2004). Looks like the door is ajar: take a peek indoors.

Elsewhere online, there is a period photo from the top floor of this building, looking toward the Merwedeplein (you can see the skyscraper).

Anne's school (prior to 1941) was the Montessori school on Nierstraat and is now named for her. (Modern day photos are at this Kindermonument page.) Starting in 1941, due to German decree, both Anne and Margot had to go to the Jewish Lyceum on the Voormalige Stadstimmertuinen. There are three modern-day photos of both schools in The Last Seven Months of Anne Frank (first photo section).
