Ranks of the Talon Knights

The law enforcment of Serenity is controled by the Constable and the Talon Knights, with a bit of help from the Griffon Knights. It is their job to keep law over the city and maintain the peace of Serentiy. Though the Sheriff is in charge of all crime fighting within the Baron's lands, the Constable of the Talon Knights only has to worry about the city itself. The Talon Knights are broken down into two smaller groups, the Inner Precinct, and the Outer Precinct.

The Inner Precinct is lead by the Inner Precinct Commander and has four Watch Captains. This area is inside the city walls, excluding the castle, which keeps it's own law and order. The city is split into four sections by using the river, walls, and harbor as the borders. Each section is called a Watch. The watches are identified by differnt names, North, South, Old Town, and Harbor. Each section keeps it's own gate secure and uses it own people to man the walls.

The West Watch is the middle section of the city which contains the Plaza, Watch Tower, and old downtown. This watch is responsible for the West Gate. The Captain of this watch works out of West Gate. The Constable's tower is in this section. Because the Constable works here and the city's best fighters, the Dupree Dueling Academy, is here, the secion can defend itself if needed. The road west leads to Siren Springs, which falls under Baron Shikara and Griffon Shalina's lands. Besides the Island Watch, this section is the most exposed to the harbor. Most people feel that the safest places to live are the North or West Watch sections.

Island Watch keeps order and peace in the harbor, the island, docks, and ships. The Harbor Master is part of the Island Watch and would report to the Island Watch Captain. The Captain of Island Watch works out of Island Tower, it is as old as Watch Tower and was orginaly built to watch for pirates when the city was still young. With the current threat of an attack from Oshiana, the Island Watch is extra busy watching not only what goes on in and above the water, but also looking for attackers from under the water.

North Watch is the north most section of the city. It is seperated by the river from the rest of the city. It containes the Stormshadow School of Magic and Cliff Heights. This watch is responisble for North Gate, which is where the Captain of North Watch's office is. This secion of town is higher than the rest of the city because it sits on top of a large hill. Cliffs line the river and ocean on the north side of town. This section is the most protected from Oshiana, but the most open to Silcadia and Amazons.

South Watch keeps the south most section of town. It is between the old city wall that seperates it from Inner Watch and the newer city wall. This watch is responisble for South Gate. This watch controls one of the newest sections of town and as of yet, have no important land marks. They have one of the longest stretches of wall and put a great deal of hours into maning it. There is no threat from the south and the gate is seldom used. A large part of this section is on the harbor, and because of the threat of siren invasion and the lack of other threats, the watch of this section is well prepared for Oshiana. An interigation ditch runs through South Watch and the mouth of that ditch must be constantly watched where it empties out into the harbor.

The Outer Precinct is controlled by the Outer Precinct Commander who reports directly to the Constable. The commander maintains laws and peace in the area outside the city walls where the large city has spilled out over it's bounds. This watch area is so large it had to be split another time, into the Outer North Watch and the Outer South Watch. Each of those groups has a Watch Captain who reports to the Outer Precinct Commander.
