August, 1998

August is here and summer is drawing to a close. August is a busy month of preparation. It is time once again to start thinking of getting ready for the winter. We need to get ready for school; there's supplies to be bought and we have to get out minds back into a "ready to learn" mode. We need to stock up on what we need physically for winter: it may be firewood, or may be preserving fruits and vegetables, or getting our warm winter coats, boots, mittens and hats ready.
We also need to get ready to get back to work in our "Worship Center". It takes a lot of preparation and planning on my part to have "The Sheepfold" ready for you in the fall. I also need you to be ready to learn more about God and his wonderful plans for our lives. It wouldn't hurt to take a little time each day to read an extra Bible story or maybe make up a list of things or people to pray for and remember to pray for them every day. Worship Center will be starting up again, on Sunday, September 13, 1998. That is the Sunday after Labor Day Weekend.
Have you been practicing being "a light shining in the darkness". Show everyone by what you do and how you act that Jesus is an important part of your life and that he is your example. Don't forget to "Collect Smiles." You might change someone's whole day.
I hope to see on this next Sunday. Have a wonderful week. Remember: Jesus loves you and so do I. (share a smile!)
Love,
Elaine
