RUTH:
Of course it's unfair!  We're women.  Our choices are never easy.

(TITANIC)

Taking measure

Have you made up your mind and want to be accompanied by a dress of the Titanic at home?
You then should take a couple of minutes of your time and take measure. If you want to wear corsets to the dresses, as it was usual at that time, you should also wear this while taking measure. It is most easy if you ask somebody to lay out the measuring tape with you. Please don't retract the belly because this would have the consequence that the dress doesn't suit you correctly. You take measure if you stand completely relaxed without shoes and upright. And please don't cheat! We don't take any responsibility if you have not taken your measures correctly.
We need the following details:

  1. Bust measurement: Over the strongest place of the chest.
    1a
Chest distance: From one chest top to the other.
  2. Waist distance: Tighten on the waist ribbon.
  3. Hips distance: Over the strongest place of botty/thighs.
  4. Chest-depth: Of the highest place of the shoulder (base of the neck) up to the chest top.
  5. Front waist length: Of the highest place of the shoulder over the chest top to the lower edge of the waist ribbon.
  6. Back length: Of the undermost cervical vertebra up to the lower edge of the waist ribbon.
  7. Breadth of the shoulders: Of the base of the neck up to the arm ball.
  8. Sleeve length: with slightly wrinkled arm from the arm ball over the elbow up to the wrist, with short sleeves up to the point where the sleeve shall end.
  9. Upper arm distance: At tense upper arm over the strongest place of the upper arm.
  10. Neck size: At the base of the neck.
  11. Length: From the base of the neck behind up to the ground.
