From its humble beginnings as a LEGO carrying case in 1983, the IBM Civic Arena has grown into a giant venue that now hosts big league events including sports, political conventions, and concerts that the Ampitheatre could not even dream of fitting in. The 2nd (LEGO-built) IBM Arena opened March 17, 1998 and was renovated August 7, 2000 (Changing roofs from LEGO to DUPLO bricks, much more sturdy). (Clockwise. Welcome to Civic Arena. This 20,000-seat arena first came into existence in 1983, as a basic Lego-carrying box. The new arena was constructed in March 1998. Many events come here such as the circus or other events that need a stage much larger than the M&M Playhouse provides.

The IBM hosts the city's men's basketball team, the Settlers, who want to become a NBA team, the Watermaids, the women's basketball team, hopeful for WNBA membership, and the IceThrashers, the NHL hopeful team. Arena Football is also played here, with the local team, the Brickmen. Also, LEGO-Fortier University's basketball, hockey, and volleyball teams play their respective sports here. Come be amongst the 20,000 fans in this exciting and joyful atmosphere full of cheers, boos, taunts (of the opponent, of course) and victory celebrations.
