The Lucette Level |
Welcome to the World Playhouse |
||||||||
The Playhouse was built in December 1997 replacing an old, ugly, and non-Lego built facility. The Playhouse is the big cultural facility in the LEGO City of Chris Fortier. The Playhouse began as a stage setup in Pioneer Field on December 17, 1997 during a 15 game Pioneer road trip. The facility was built on December 25th, 1997 and opening night for the new theatre was December 28, 1997. |
Lower seats of the M&M |
This playhouse contains 35 dressing rooms, a sound booth with 1500 channels worth of sound, 1100 seats, 4 royal boxes, 2 box offices, 2 terraces to relax on, and a reception area for those cast parties and Symphony sleepovers. Each seat has a direct view of the entire stage and the entire theatre. No food or drink is allowed inside the theater, and smoking is prohibited in the entire building. Those wishing to smoke may step outside the building or step onto the terraces. A trapdoor on stage and above the stage give the theatre a Shakespherian look. Lighting is controlled from the sound box and can go in 64 different colors, perfect for expressing emotions of the actors. Just the best for concertgoers and performers alike. |
THE SYMPHONY SERIES |

The upper seats and the soundbox. |
Every Friday evening, the Symphony at Fortier's Lego City plays here at the M&M. The symphony is divided into the Orchestra, the Choir, the Jazz Ensemble, the Dance Series Band, Mozart orchestra, and the Pops. Also, every night, an individual instrument choir performs. Before each play or forensic evening, the choir will perform for thirty minutes pieces from classical and modern works. The symphony will also perform during Thursday lunchtime at the Auburn Hotel. This symphony sells out for the year rather quickly. Tickets for these shows are $7-$10 at the box office located next to the front door. |

Forensic Night |
|
A pair of funny guys doing "A Bad Ballet," a duo interp piece written especially for this pair. |
Every Tuesday Night is Forensic Night at the Playhouse. Some of you may wonder--What is forensics? The forensics talked about here is not cutting up human cadavers to find the cause of death. This forensics is much more enjoyable to watch, as a matter of fact, you will enjoy it. Nine performances a night are given in the individual categories of Original Oratory, Extemperaneous Speaking, Prose, Poetry, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Storytelling, and Impromptu Speaking. The Forensic team, the Trolls, compete around the world wherever there is a forensic meet. Annually, the team hosts the Fortier Championships, which attracts teams from around the world. Finalists come and perform here at the playhouse for the championships. Tickets are $6-$9 at the box office. |
