About Me

Hi! I'm Emily , welcome to my homepage!

What, you want to find out more about me? Well, you've come to the right place.

[Hi!]

I am a full time student at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is a pretty cool place for a school, especially since we won the NAIA basketball championship this past season. I am not normally a huge basketball fan, but let me tell you, this was awesome! I have never seen such school spirit. For about 2 weeks, just about everybody on campus slept, ate, and breathed basketball. Since the tournament was in Idaho, they had it projected onto big screens in our fieldhouse so we could watch. I got to work on the technical crew for it.

I am now officially a senior, which is kind of scary to me. It doesn't seem so very long ago that I started. I plan to graduate in May of 2000 with a BA in Language Arts and my Elementary Education Certificate.

In the summer time I work for Herman Miller. This is my second summer here, and I am enjoying it! My dad works not to far away from me here in the offices, and it is nice to see him every once in awhile throughout the days. (He has worked here 23 years!)

I am happily married now! I can even say that it was worth all the Immigration Hassle to get him into the country. (He is Canadian) For pictures of him, see my Jason Page.

[My Husband!]

Our newsest news is that I am going to have a baby in May! Yes . . . he or she is due only five days after my graduation. We are excited and surprised about this. : )

I am a Christian and serving God is the most important part of my life. If you want to know more about being a Christian, I invite you to take a look at the Bible.

My Churches

I am a member of the The Reformed Baptist Church of Holland, and I attend there when I'm home from school. I really enjoy my involvement there as an assistant Sunday School teacher. Recently, we have moved from the school building we were meeting in to a building of our own, and we are so thankful for it! There is a really amazing story about how God provided this building for us, too. (Ask me sometime if you are curious)

When I'm away from home, I attend The Reformed Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, which is the church I grew up in. I have many good friends in both churches and if you are ever in the area, I invite you to come visit one of them! : )

Other Things That Are Important to Me

This is a little something I wrote in memory of my friend Seth Seth's Story

Life can get pretty hectic. If you need to take a break, I invite you to visit The Quiet Place

[Choose Life!]

I believe in the Right to Life.

[Choose Life!]

That means that I believe we have no right under any circumstances, to purposely kill an unborn baby at any stage of development or a terminally ill person who cannot speak for themselves. To do so is nothing short of murder. I have only become more convinced of this since I myself became pregnant. When I think of the new life inside of me, I know without a doubt that it should be protected and cherished at all costs, even if it is not something we had planned for now.

[Choose Life!]

[The United States Flag]

I believe that we, as Americans, have not only a right, but a responsibility to be involved in the government of our land. One of the most fundamental ways we are able to do this is by voting. Taking this responsibilty for granted is taking for granted the blood of all those who have died to give us these freedoms we enjoy. I am a Republican. That is not to say that I give a blanket endorsement to all the beliefs or positions of the Republican Party or any certain member of it. Of the major political parties in the United States today, I agree most with the Republican Party.

[Listen Up!]

I enjoy finding out about the countries that my ancestors from, especially since I still have reletives in many of them. My dad is almost all Dutch, and my mom is Italian and French-Canadian. It is really neat as I find out bits about my heritage. I am glad to say, though, that I have been born and raised in the United States of America and I wouldn't have it any other way.
