Chapter 1, Uncanny X-Men 317 -
Encounter
In Monaco, the young woman named Monet St. Croix, daughter of an ambassador is attacked by
a member of the Phalanx, called Harvest. Harvest absorbs Monet's driver and friend, and
Monet, unaware of her surroundings, is captured. Back at the Xavier Mansion, Banshee
returns to find lots have changed since his last visit. He sees the captive Emma Frost,
before finding Jubilee has taken his spot in the Danger Room. He has several strange
encounters with the X-Men, but Banshee's worst fears are confirmed when he tricks the
look-a-like Bishop by lying. Banshee runs to the security station, only to find that Emma
Frost, Jubilee, himself, and the captive Sabretooth are the only real mutants there. He
goes to Sabretooth's cell, and finds "Rogue" is guarding it. He opens the door,
but Rogue attacks him. With his sonic scream, he scatters the Phalanx. He wakes up
Sabretooth, and then Sabretooth goes to free the Frost and Jubes. Banshee fights off the
Phalanx, and sets off the self-detonation. Banshee, Emma, Jubilee, and Sabretooth escape
into the Morlock tunnels, with the knowledge of the Phalanx's next target: the next
generation of potential X-Men!
Chapter 2, X-Men 36 -
Drop the Leash
Everett Thomas is under arrest for single-handedly destroyed every window in a several
block radius, when he is attacked by the Phalanx. But before the Phalanx can capture him,
Banshee and Sabretooth arrive. Sabretooth gets the boy clear, and Banshee unleashes a
powerful scream, liquifying their techno-organics. In Kentucky, at the home of the
Guthries, Paige's mother is attacked by the Phalanx. But in reality, they tricked Paige
into letting her guard down. The Phalanx capture her with ease. Back with Emma and
Jubilee, the duo are attacked by a group of Phalanx, and Ev, Banshee, and Sabretooth
arrive. Using her telepathy, Emma connects Jubilee's power to Everett, and unleashes a
large explosion, destroying much of the Phalanx. But from the rubble rises the form of Dr.
Scott Lang, the Phalanx's creator. As a warning, he shows them one of the Phalanx's
captives: the long-lost sister of Jean Grey, Sara Grey. Lang also tells them that the
other children have been captured, and then disappears. But before they can decide what to
do, Banshee makes the horrible discovery that Sabretooth has escaped!
Chapter 3, Uncanny X-Men 318 -
Enter Freely and of Your Own Will
In the confines of the Phalanx's ship, Paige mets Angelo for the first time. Monet sits
alone in the corner, while Gregor comforts the terrified Clarice. But then Clarice sees
what Paige did not: she's infected with the T-O virus. At Emma Frost's home in California,
Banshee, Emma, Jubilee, and Ev arrive to figure out their next course of action. Back on
the ship, Harvest arrives to terrorize the kids, but Clarice strikes back, using her
powers to dislocate him. Gregor stops her from killing him, and he escapes. Emma and
Banshee use her telepathy to enter the local SHIELD base to find the location of the ship.
The two are found out, but they manage to escape with the information they need. Back on
the ship, Monet suddenly comes alive, using the mesh from her prison garb to reveal Gregor
as a Phalanx and opens an exit. Paige tells them to go on without her, but Monet will not
let her stay.
Chapter 4, X-Men 37 -
The Currents Shift
On the ship, Clarice, Monet, Angelo, and Paige are attacked by the evil Harvest. While
they manage to slow him down, Banshee, Emma, Ev, and Jubilee arrive. But before they can
reach the next generation of mutants, Harvest corners them. Then, out of nowhere,
Sabretooth returns, slashing away at Harvest. But Harvest proves to powerful for
Sabretooth alone, and Banshee arrives to save the day. In the brief respite, Sabretooth
tells them he has his own reasons for saving the kids. Paige tells them who she is, but
Sabretooth suddenly attacks, and Paige's power stands revealed: she can husk her skin for
a new form beneath. But before the team can collect themselves, Harvest reforms himself
and attacks anew. They fight, but nothing they throw at the monster can stop him. Clarice
knows that her power is the only one who can save them. Throwing her power at Harvest, she
teleports half the ship away, throwing the kids, Emma, and Sabretooth into the water.
Clarice seperates Banshee from Harvest, but Banshee can not free Clarice from her field.
Harvest, the ship, and Clarice vanish forever. And the next generation of mutants lose
their first member,
